Delete your account
Deleting your account permanently removes all of your personal data and abandons your empire to its own people. Two ways to do it, both permanent. No forms, no retention offers, no waiting on hold.
In the game — the quickest way
- Open Astral Sovereignty (the app, or play.astralsovereignty.com) and sign in.
- Go to the More tab, and in the Account card tap Delete account…
- Type DELETE to confirm. Deletion starts immediately and you are signed out everywhere.
By email — if you cannot sign in
- Email [email protected] with the subject “Delete my account”.
- Send it from the email address your account uses — that is how we know the request is really yours. There are no passwords to confirm.
What is deleted
- Your email address, account name, sign-in codes and every session, on every device.
- Your Google and Discord identities and the links between them and your account.
- Your support tickets and correspondence, notification preferences and push subscriptions.
- Your private map notes, your fleet and ship-design tags, and the empire bio you wrote.
- Your empire's name — everywhere. It is rewritten to the new name wherever other players' reports and notes quoted it.
- Anything in the account audit trail that identifies you.
What remains, and why
The galaxy is one shared world that every other player has acted in, and under our Rules of Play the map is never edited on any one player's behalf — deleting an empire would hand its neighbours free territory and erase the history of everyone who dealt with it. So your empire is abandoned, not deleted:
- Its citizens take over. The empire gets a new, system-generated name and is run from then on by the same computer players that run every other non-player empire, under the same rules and costs as everyone. Other players are told a people have risen; they are not told who left.
- Its colonies, fleets, ship designs and battle history stay where they were, as anonymous game records. The names you gave colonies, fleets and designs remain part of the map; they are not linked to you. If one identifies you, email us and we will rename it.
Nothing that remains can be linked to you by us or by anyone else.
Timing and the fine print
- Deletion is complete within 30 days of your request, and usually within the hour: the personal data goes at once, and the empire is handed over at the next game tick. An emailed request gets a confirmation reply when it is done.
- Rolling database backups are overwritten within a further 14 days and are never used to restore a deleted account.
- Deletion is permanent. Your email address is released and can be used for a new account, which starts from nothing, like everyone else.
